Our vision at City to City Australia is to see the whole church serving the whole city with the whole gospel.

City to City Australia exists to help leaders start churches, strengthen churches and gather churches in movements of oneness.

grace renewal dynamics

In the Christian life - and in Christian ministry - there’s always a dynamic at work, a motivational structure that empowers and drives forward. Foundational for City to City is that it is the gospel of God’s grace in the cross of Christ that is to be that force. Grace is not only the start of the Christian life in justification, it is also the power for the Christian life in sanctification and holiness.

mission & ministry

What we see modelled and urged in the New Testament is taking proper responsibility not only for faithfulness in gospel proclamation, but also for how that gospel is heard and understood by others.

“Giving people the Bible’s answers to questions about life that people in their particular time and place are asking, in language and forms they can comprehend, and through appeals and arguments with force they can feel, even if they reject them” (Center Church, p. 89) is this art of contextualisation.

Integrative Vision of
Life & Ministry

Because Jesus Christ is Lord over every part of creation, so every element of our lives - home, church, work, and world - is an arena for faithful discipleship and the glory of God. As a result, the vision of the Christian life that ministry enacts needs to integrate the whole of life.

CATHOLICITY OF SPIRIT

It takes a movement to reach a city. But no one church, denomination or organisation has all the resources and insight to be a movement on its own. And that enables a posture of humility, welcome and celebration of the different contributions of each part. It is this posture that characterises catholicity of spirit.

Working across denominations and church expressions, in cities, towns and regions, with men and women church leaders, our Revitalise program works to enable churches to move into a new season of fruitfulness, so that churches may grow, multiply and be prepared to better proclaim the gospel to more Australians.
